What is specialty coffee?

Coffee goes through many stages before it reaches your cup. Starting from the farm, through harvesting, processing, storage, roasting, and finally preparing it for drinking. All these stages are essential in developing coffee and it passes through them with a certain quality to get high-quality coffee. Thus, specialty coffee is the result of excellent endeavor throughout the entire production chain.

Coffee Extraction

What is the link between coffee and chemistry? This is an important question. Before answering it, we need to understand what chemistry is. Chemistry is "the study of matter and its properties, how and why substances combine or separate to form other substances, and how substances interact with energy." Now we can use our knowledge of chemistry and apply it to making a high-quality cup of coffee.

Coffee Processing

After the coffee beans grow and are harvested, the coffee goes through an important stage that greatly affects the taste of the coffee, which is the processing stage where the green coffee beans are removed from inside the fruit (peel).
